‘Wimbledon House’ Near Completion
We're delighted to announce that our Wimbledon House project in London is approaching completion, with the external terrace now taking its final form as landscape works progress. The design features central wide steps that create a grand transition between interior and exterior spaces, whilst a series of stepped levels provide multifunctional outdoor areas that respond to the site's natural slope. This thoughtful approach not only maximises the usable space through varied interventions but also provides essential structural support, working harmoniously with the site's challenging topographical conditions. The result is an elegant solution that transforms the sloping terrain into a series of dynamic, purposeful outdoor spaces.
The design detailing and selected bricks celebrate the perfect bridge between eras, complementing the existing structure while subtly distinguishing the new extension. Each handcrafted brick adds unique texture and character, creating clean, modern lines that speak to contemporary design. The white hue pays homage to the original structure’s aesthetic while introducing a fresh, bright aspect to the extension.
This thoughtful choice of materials will demonstrate how modern extensions can respect and enhance the character of older homes, crafting a cohesive narrative in brick and mortar.
