‘‘The Coach House’’ Hit & Miss Brickwork
As construction progresses at our Grade ll listed Coach House project. We continue to challenge creative and structural boundaries, forming hit and miss brickwork with steel rods taken down into the concrete footing to a section of the garden room.
Hit and miss is a technique that creates a lattice-like pattern by intentionally omitting, or “missing,” some bricks in alternating courses, leaving gaps that allow light and air to pass through the wall. This feature will provide screening between the shower room and garden room, orchestrating a playful interplay of shadows, light and carefully framed views of the garden beyond.
